Finally, Fall!

Well, it has been a very, very long summer. I am so glad that it is fall now. 'Cept I don't know what is falling. I been looking at the sky, but I haven't seen anything yet.

My Mom has been really busy and she says she has not had time to help me keep up with my blog. One day, I am gonna learn to type. That'll show her! Then she'll have to get me a laptop too.

Ok, I have been a little busy myself. I have been learning a lot of stuff this summer. I learned not to follow Mom when she leaves. I learned to be the man of the house when Dad is not home. (That is hard, cause there are still boogers out there just waiting to get me!) I learned not to jump on people when they visit, cept sometimes I forget. Oh, and my Mom is teaching me a mean trick. She calls it WAIT. She puts a treat on my nose and says "Wait, wait, wait" forever and ever and ever. Then after about 2 years and 3 days, she says "OK!" and I get to eat the treat. That is a mean trick to me, but she laughs and calls me a good boy, so I let her do it.

I gotta tell you about my new friend! Her name is Ashlynn and she comes to visit me sometimes. She used to be really little and I could not get close to her cause everyone would say, "NO!!!" But now she is bigger and she likes to play with me. She yells for me and I can sit next to her on the couch. She pets me and pokes me and kisses me. Sometimes, when nobody is watching, I give her kisses back. Shhhh! Don't tell her momma. Ashlynn is so fun. I even let her sit on my back and play horsey. She really likes me and not Lupa or the cats. She never pets them, just me. Ha Ha!

Well, it is time for me to go to bed now. Dad is looking sleepy and he can't sleep unless I am next to him. I'll tell my Mom to put pictures on here soon.

Summer is here!

It is so hot. I don't like it when it is hot. The horses are lazy and don't like to run. It is too hot to chase them anyway. The gooses stay down at the pond, so at least I don't have to put up with Stoopid Goose. The cats stay inside where the cool air is and sometimes they want to get in my cool spot, but I make them move.

My Dad is doing some weird things outside. I think he has finally gone crazy. I didn't do it, it was the goose! Anyway, he goes outside and gets this big, loud machine and takes it inside this fence. Then he walks up and down inside the fence in the dirt. He has some weird stuff in there that he calls "Veggie Tables". I never saw any tables like these before, but I guess he really likes them, cause he goes in there alot. And they must be bad about trying to run away, cause he has some of them tied to stuff AND he keeps the gate closed.

Saturday, he went out there and stayed and stayed and stayed. Finally he came in and he was all wet. Mom made him take a shower. I was worried about him, cause it is hot outside and I think he must have had to chase the Veggie Tables, cause he brought in some green things and put them in the fridgerator. I hope it wasn't Veggie Table poop, cause Leo ate them all! (Leo is the boy that comes here sometimes and calls me his brother or his son. I'll tell you about him one day. He is really fun.)

Finally, Dad sat down and he smelled all good and clean. He said he had more to do for the Veggie Tables, but I am smart! I laid down on him so he couldn't go back outside! Him and mom and me decided to watch movies then. That was cool with me, cause I like popcorn.

Rainy Day

Today is a lazy day. It has been rainy and sleepy. Rain makes my fur flat. And it makes Lupa smell like a wet dog. Glad I don't have that problem.

Since it is a lazy day, I have been laying on the couch, napping. It is great to not have to put up with Stoopid Goose or chase the horses today. I need the break. Granny is out of town and we have been babysitting her dogs, Rudy and Kizzie. I like Kizzie. She is cool and plays with me. Rudy is not my favorite. He is mean to me when I am over there. And once he bit Leo on the nose and he had to go to the People Vet. I was afraid they would "FIX" him while he was there, but I think he just got stitches. It was really scary when it happened! I ran and hid behind my Mom, cause I didn't want to get bit.
I had a tough time with Rudy visiting. I had to gather all my toys and keep them close to me. Don't want his cooties on them. Then I had to eat the food before him, so he wouldn't hog it all. That was tough cause Mom kept refilling the bowl. Then he kept sitting on my Dad and I was afraid he would bite him, and Dad would have to go to the People Vet. But the worst part was that he kept getting on the couch with my Mom and he must have been talking bad, cause when she rubbed his back, he was growling. She thought he was liking it, but I think she didn't understand him, cause it sounded mean to me. But she didn't get bit!

Yesterday, Dad let them out and they ran away to home, so they had to stay there last night and I got petted and loved and spoiled again. Ha Ha! That's what they get. This is my house and my Mom and Dad. I get the spoiling 'round here. I'm the boss. Now I gotta go. Dad went to town and I think he said something about tacos!

Do I look like a Message Board??

You know what? There are some problems with having white fur and living in a house that has markers. I don't know whose bright idea it was to start this, but some smarty pants people think it is fun to write on me! Just look what they did when that new Harry Potter movie came out!

I don't need glasses! I can see just fine.

Now, I am a pampered dog and I like to have my toenails polished and my fur brushed, but having writing on me does nothing for my street cred. I mean, I have to chase those horses and do you think they take me serious when I have Ho Ho Ho wrote across my forhead? I don't think so. And Stoopid Goose must be really blind cause he tried to pull off my fake glasses. I still have a sore spot on my nose from that. I hate that goose.
And what of some pretty lady dog comes by and sees that? How would I impress her with words all over me? What if she can read?

Sometimes I don't mind it so much. If it is not a lot of writing and it makes me cuter. But when they use the Sharpie and it stays for days and days, it kinda bugs me. Or when they draw smiley faces on my butt. How can anything be intimidated by a dog with a smiley butt?

Maybe I can find those markers and chew them up. But that would probably be "Bad Dog" and I don't want to get in trouble with my Mom. I'll have to think about this one for a while. It helps me think when I chase the horses, so I think I'll go do that. Bye!!

Riding in the Car

Hey, it's me again. My mom says lots of people like my blog. Most of them even think I am handsome. Those are the smart people.

Today, I think I'll tell you about one of my favorite things to do. I love, love, love to ride in the car. I don't want my mom to go anywhere without me. I get in the car every time I can. Even if she is not going anywhere for a while and just leaves her window down. Sometimes we go to the bank and I get a bone. Sometimes we go to Taco Bell and I get a taco. Sometimes we go to Granny's and I get nothing. We go to Granny's a lot.

One time, my mom decided to leave me in the house all by myself while she went somewhere. (I think it might have been to pet another dog, even though she said she was going shopping!) Anyway, I watched her leave through the window and I wanted to go sooo bad! And I was scared to be by myself and it was Christmas time and I was afraid someone would sneak in and steal me. So, I thought about it and thought about it and decided to try something. I jumped up and right through her front window! But I couldn't find her after I got out, so I went to Granny's. That afternoon, when Dad got home, I found out they didn't like having all the fresh air in the house and that it was "BAD DOG!" to break windows. Me and Mom learned a good lesson. She doesn't leave me alone in her house when she leaves and I don't break windows.

Speaking of lessons, I should tell you another important one to know. When you are riding in the car and the window is open, DON'T LEAN WAY OUT. One time on the way back from the bank, Mom had all the windows down and we were almost home. I was sticking my head way out and flapping in the breeze. I love it when the wind blows my ears and lips. Anyway, this time I was leaning out and it felt so good that I leaned out more. Then all of a sudden, I fell out the window!! Mom yelled for me and stopped real quick--good thing she wasn't going really fast. She hopped out of the car and looked at my legs and head and said that I wasn't hurt. Well, my pride was! I mean I am a dog! We aren't supposed to fall out car windows! It's like a rule, or maybe even a law or something! When I think about it now, I might have felt Lupa shove me a little. She can be mean like that. I know she was laughing at me cause I saw her!

Me and Mom learned another good lesson that day. I learned not to trust Lupa, and she learned not to roll the window all the way down and to hold onto my back leg. She's a good Mom.

SNOW DAY!

Ok, know that you know who I am, I'll be telling you some of my 'ventures, as Mom calls them. First, I'll tell you what happened a few weeks ago. While I was sleeping, some white stuff fell on the ground! Mom said it was snow. Let me tell you, it was cold! And it was everywhere! Mom said we could go out and play in it, but first I had to have a hat to keep my ears from freezin off. If you ask me, that is kinda silly, but they made me wear it. Lupa didn't have to, but she did not play as much as me.

That's me and Lupa and my dad. He had to hold me to keep that hat on! We played in the snow stuff for a while. It must be really cold on goose feet, cause that goose was steppin high. Stoopid Goose is his name. I hate that goose. And I think he hates me too cause he bites me everytime I am not looking. I would bite him in that long neck, but Mom and Dad fuss at me if I try. Stoopid goose.

Anyway, we played chase the horses, keep away from the goose and Dad made up a new game, where he made a ball out of the snow and threw it for me to go get it. Except, I would see it land and run to get it, but I could never find it. That wasn't a very fun game for me, even though mom and dad laughed and laughed.

I got my picture made a lot that day. Mom said something about a scrapbook or something. This one is my favorite. I think I look cool.
When we all got good and cold, we wanted to come in the house. Since I am the baby, I get to go first. So I ran and jumped up the steps, to get ahead of Lupa. But when I landed on the porch, I slipped on the snow and my feet went out from under me and I slid right into the front door. Kinda hurt my nose, but when I went in Mom wrapped me in a blankie and I got to lay on the couch and get warm. Stoopid Goose had to stay out in the cold! Ha! That is what he gets for being Stoopid!
I'll post more of my ventures later. Right now, it is time to bark at boogers outside. I have never really seen one, but I think that is cause my bark sounds so mean and it scares them.

TAZ THE GREAT

Taz is a dog. A big, slobbery, goofy pit bull with an identity crisis. See, Taz was bought as a tiny little puppy by my baby brother and his girlfriend. He was raised in the house with 3 Shih-Tzu divas. And 2 spoiled cats. From the start, he knew he was low man on the totem pole. He would wander to the food bowl only to be slapped at, hissed at, growled at or even snapped at. He learned to wait.

When Taz was almost a year old, he was deemed too big for the indoors, so a large fenced in yard was built. With a 4 foot chain link fence and a great big house with soft blankets and pillows. He had his very own food and water bowls that he did not have to share with anyone! And he could watch the horses and ducks and geese and try to figure out what that was all about. Finally, moving day came. His toys were gathered and off he went to the yard. This looked like an adventure! Outside, with lots of room to play and no one to bother him.

He went into his new home quite readily. He explored the house, tasted the food, sniffed the water bowl, tinkled in all the corners. Wow! what a cool place! To visit. As soon as the gate closed, he knew something was up. He decided that Shannon must have forgotten him. He barked once. No one came. He barked again. Still no one came. Hmmm. He'd just handle this himself. He jumped the fence and raced back to the house. He was so proud! Shannon, not so much. He took Taz back. Oh, this was a game!! Taz loved games. He beat Shannon back to the house at least a dozen times. He was good at this game, but strangely, Shannon did not like the game.

Well, the personal yard did not work out, but he had gotten a taste of the wide world outside and he liked it. There were strange critters out there that needed to be investigated. He loved the big horses. He could bark and they would run from him! Finally, something that he could boss around. And those loud, quacky things were pretty strange. They ran from him too. Well, except that one that sometimes chased him back!

One day, Taz realized that his favorite people lived right next door! The ones that gave him treats and wrestled with him and had that little black dog. He began to visit everyday. There were cats here and sometimes little birds in a box with a light inside it. And they had the best treats ever. He liked it there and stayed longer and longer every visit. Finally, he got to spend the night. Ah, heaven! Soon, he was staying more and more. When he went back "home", the other dogs still bossed him, but he knew they were jealous.

Eventually, it became obvious that he was never going back to where he came from. He settled into his place somewhere below the Chalupa, the queen dog, and the 5 cats, but a little bit above horses and geese. Well, except for that one.
